Spotted this lovely Poplar today and I was unsure of the species. I found out via Facebook it's European Aspen (Populus tremula)
Young leaves are triangular with pointed tips, but the adult leaves are very different in shape, rounded with ruffled edges.
The petioles are flattened, allowing the leaves to tremble in the breeze, hence the species name.
I expect it to be quite pretty in Autumn when the leaves turn bright yellow; one to go back to!
